Bubba Wallace texted NASCAR rival Carson Hocevar to apologize after wrecking him at Martinsville last month, but Hocevar couldn't help but laugh.

The incident in question occurred during the final stage of the Cook Out 400, with Wallace turning Hocevar's No. 77 Chevrolet out of frustration after bumping him multiple times, causing significant damage to both cars.

Wallace's car was so wrecked that he was forced to park up in the garage as a result, while Hocevar went on to finish 17th.

Post-race, Wallace insisted he hadn't meant to wreck Hocevar, but the NASCAR community was clear who was in the wrong, including Wallace's own spotter, who called the move 'inexcusable'.

Carson Hocevar reveals Bubba Wallace apology text

Following Martinsville, the Cup Series paused for its Easter weekend break, so the two are set to be back on track together for the first time once again at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday.

However, it doesn't appear that there is any bad blood or hard feelings between them. Speaking to the media at Bristol, as shared by Noah Lewis, Hocevar revealed that Wallace had reached out and apologized, but that he couldn't help but laugh given that he didn't deserve it on this occasion, even if there might be other times he does.

“Yeah, he texted me,” Hocevar said of Wallace after Martinsville. “I just kind of laughed about it.

“There's times where I feel like I'm definitely deserving of something, and I was laughing that - luckily, my stuff was still rolling - but I didn't feel like I deserved it, and still got it. So I was just laughing at how it worked out.

“But no, he texted me. He said he was just having a rough day, and when I passed him, he's like, ‘You did nothing wrong, I was just already mad, and that sent me over the edge.’

“I was like, ‘No, that's cool, man.’ I've been there, done that. I've ended plenty of days, and obviously it hurt him more than it did me, so yeah, we’re all good.”

Wallace: Hocevar didn't do anything wrong

Wallace himself confirmed what Hocevar was saying when he offered his side of the story.

“Oh, it’s good. He didn’t do anything wrong on Sunday,” Wallace told media at Bristol, including Bob Pockrass.

“So I apologized to him, but [we’re] all good.”
