NASCAR star Bubba Wallace has reflected on what it was like racing for and against the late great Kyle Busch.
It is now just over three weeks since we sadly lost the NASCAR legend, with Busch having passed away at the age of 41 on May 21.
Ever since, beautiful tributes from all corners of the NASCAR community have flooded in, highlighting just how respected Busch was both on the track and off it.
Wallace and Busch had a close relationship, with the now 23XI star having gotten his first full-time ride in NASCAR at Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series back in 2013. Wallace went on to race for KBM for two full seasons, winning five races, including his final one for the team at Homestead in 2014.

Now, appearing on this week's episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Wallace has once again reflected on his relationship with the late two-time Cup Series champion, and what he was like behind the scenes.
“KB was incredible,” Wallace said. “We've gone through a lot, you know, racing for him for two years, but against him for 14.
“And yeah, he took no s**t and he didn't sugarcoat anything, you know. The truck stuff (at KBM) he was basically like, ‘Here's the keys, you're gonna go win if you do all of this,’ and it was like, ‘figure it out.’
“And I wish I took more time to ask the right questions. That’s when I started having that one little flaw, only have one flaw that I noticed about myself … Just ask more questions, ask the right questions.
“As big of a hard ass as he was, he was an open notebook if you just went up to him, and he encouraged you to do that. I just talked to you so much and then obviously got to the cup level, had our run-ins there, and you kind of just get busy with your own life. You don't communicate as much unless you're just stuck on driver intro trucks or on the intro stage or whatever.
“But yeah, that was an incredible loss for our community. Still thinking about him and his family.”
