NASCAR Cup Series crew member Donovan Williams was released from the hospital with minor injuries after taking life-saving action at Dover Motor Speedway.
The incident in question occurred on Friday ahead of Cup Series practice at the track, with Williams becoming a hero when he stepped in front of a rogue pit cart heading downhill and towards FOX reporter Amanda Busick, shielding her from the brunt of the impact.
Williams, who was working as a tire carrier on Daniel Suarez's No. 7 crew this weekend and is a Hendrick Motorsports team member, was initially in an ambulance and then taken to the hospital, but thankfully, a positive health update has since emerged.
As per FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass, Williams only suffered minor injuries as a result of his heroic actions and was released from the hospital on Friday night.

Busick: Williams saved my life
Speaking to The Athletic, Busick recalled the terrifying moment, adamant that Williams' actions saved her life.
“You see it all happening in slow motion, but super-fast,” Busick explained. “I could see the cart coming; I could see, who I now know is Donovan Williams, trying to brace the cart, but it just had so much speed. There was no way that he could keep up with it.
“This all happened in probably less than half a second, maybe a second. And Donovan, in his attempt to shield me, we kind of got collected and then would have been pushed, I don’t know, I’d say probably five to 10 feet together with the cart behind him and him on me.
“That guy saved my life.”
Taking to social media after the incident, Busick also wrote: "Told Donovan Williams at hospital I hate we had to meet this way… But so grateful we did!
"We both agreed what a reminder this is to never take any of it for granted. Can’t wait to hug you at a track again soon Donovan, and thank you to all who rushed to help us immediately."
Andrew Egnarski replaced Williams as tire carrier for Daniel Suarez on Saturday, while Jarius Morehead filled in as tire carrier on Rajah Caruth's No. 88 team in the O'Reilly Series.
