The battle at the top of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series is well and truly alive after Denny Hamlin's stunning victory at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday.
Going from first to last, Hamlin took his second victory in as many weeks at the 2-mile oval, picking up 58 points in the process compared to Reddick's 12 after his race ended in a wreck and he was classified 35th.
Ahead of the green flag, Reddick's lead stood at 97 points, but now, Hamlin trails the 23XI star by just 51 points and with momentum well and truly on his side. Sure, it's still a healthy gap for Reddick, but it represents a roughly 47% swing in Hamlin's favor. Game on.
Elsewhere in the standings, Ryan Blaney continues to occupy third spot, although he is 106 points adrift of Hamlin, while Chase Elliott and Ty Gibbs round out the top five.
Reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson sits sixth, with Carson Hocevar, Chris Buescher, Daniel Suarez and Christopher Bell rounding out the top 10 in that order.
Further down the order, the battle for the final Chase spots is heating up. Just 42 points separate Shane van Gisbergen in 14th position and Ryan Preece in 19th at present, with those drivers plus Brad Keselowski, Austin Cindric, Joey Logano and Erik Jones all battling for those places.
