The dust has barely settled on Kyle Larson's recent Cup Series championship success.
It is just a few weeks since that incredible finish at Phoenix saw Larson win his second Cup Series title at the expense of Denny Hamlin, with he and his No. 5 team making a superior strategy call over the Joe Gibbs Racing driver heading into overtime after the No. 11 had dominated the championship race.
Having achieved such stunning success, you'd think Larson would still be celebrating, or perhaps, after a grueling 36-race NASCAR schedule, he might be keen on some downtime and a period away from the race track. No chance!
Kyle Larson set for historic midget race
Instead of resting up or prolonging his Cup Series celebrations, Larson is looking to taste victory once again, participating in the 84th running of the ARP Turkey Night Grand Prix Presented By the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame.
The event has been described as the most 'history-rich midget race of them all' and is set to see a field of 50 drivers compete for the victory at Ventura Raceway, California, on Saturday, November 29.
Everybody knows all about the talent and passion that Larson possesses when it comes to dirt racing at this point in his career, and this is clear to see when looking at his previous record at the event.
Larson has won the Turkey Night Grand Prix on four previous occasions: 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2023. In his 12 outings in the event, he has finished no lower than fourth on 11 occasions.
The Hendrick Motorsports star is one of four previous winners taking part, with defending champion Corey Day, Justin Grant and Logan Seavey also set to race.
Away from Larson's appearance, the USAC National Midget title race will also be decided at the event, with Cannon McIntosh leading Justin Grant by 52 points entering their season finale, with a maximum of 72 remaining up for grabs.
We can't wait to see how Larson gets on!
