NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson has revealed the traits he's passed on to his kids and which of the young racers is most like him when it comes to being in a car and out on the track.

Larson and his wife Katelyn currently have three children, two sons - Owen, age 13, and Cooper, age three - and one daughter, Audrey, age seven.

Despite their tender ages, however, two of the three are already following in their fathers' footsteps, with Owen and Audrey keen racers in their own right (we're sure Cooper will do the same once he's old enough).

The ever-growing array of Larson talent was on display at the Tulsa Shootout in Oklahoma this week, with Kyle, Owen, and Audrey all competing in their own respective classes in the prestigious event.

Larson reveals kids' racing traits

Given their father is a two-time champion, comparisons are always going to be made between them and their father, but which traits does Larson himself feel he has passed on to his children?

Interestingly, on the racing side, he believes Audrey is like him most, although he says that Owen is more similar when it comes to his personality.

“On the racing side of it, she's [Audrey] probably more similar to me than Owen would be,” Larson told FloRacing ahead of the Tulsa Shootout.

“Owen, personality-wise, is more similar to me. Audrey is very fiery and [has] lots of personality and attitude. I’m not like that.

“But yeah, the competitive mindset [she is] probably more similar to me. But yeah, it’s just fun to see your kids' kind of characteristics play out, and you know, just see them grow up."

Larson results in Tulsa

Although Kyle did not walk away with another Golden Driller this year, he will have been happy with the Larsons' displays in Oklahoma.

Competing in just the Winged Outlaw event, the two-time Cup Series champion finished the feature race in fourth, and at one stage, looked in contention for the win, which later got away from him due to an uncharacteristic error.

Elsewhere, Owen Larson made it through to the feature in the Restricted A-Class category and finished in fourth, no easy feat.

Audrey, meanwhile, made her first Tulsa Shootout outing in the Junior Sprint class, and although she didn't make it to the feature, she did enjoy success in the week, including a heat race win.

It's now onto the Chili Bowl for Kyle, where he will look to regain his crown having lost out to Christopher Bell in 2025.
