Ryan Blaney offered a very blunt response to the media when discussing an on-track incident with NASCAR rival Denny Hamlin at Martinsville on Sunday.

Hamlin and Blaney found themselves battling in third and fourth spot in the third stage of the Cook Out 400, but the former found himself tumbling down the order after the two made contact on lap 334.

As they approached the start-finish line for lap 335, Hamlin was on the inside and Blaney the outside, but the No. 11 forced the No. 12 into the wall as he came out of the corner and up the track.

Hamlin later revealed that he had lost control at that moment, spinning his rears and getting higher up the track than intended, but it was clear that Blaney wasn't impressed.

“I got ran in the fence,” Blaney told NASCAR.com after the black and white checkered flag. “That was my perspective.”

Blaney continued: “It’s definitely unfortunate what happened. I don’t really think I deserved what happened.

"It was the first time we were around each other all day, so I’m pretty curious of why I got stuffed in there like that. But yeah, I mean, disappointing to not run better than what we did.

"But on the other side, proud of the day that we had and thought we could contend for the win, and that kind of took us out.

"But overall, proud of the effort and pace and just didn’t really work out.”

Blaney ended the race in sixth position after sustaining damage. Hamlin, meanwhile, finished second.
