2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski has shared a positive health update ahead of Christmas after being forced to undergo surgery earlier this month.
On December 19, RFK Racing released an official statement confirming that the Michigan native had suffered a broken leg while on a skiing trip with his family.
As a result of his injury, the team revealed that Keselowski had undergone what they called 'routine' surgery, and that his doctors expected a quick and full recovery.
The 41-year-old Cup Series driver and team owner even took to social media himself with his own message, revealing he was now 'bionic' having had a screw fitted in his leg.
"Life has a way of reminding you to slow down," he posted on X. "Grateful for my family by my side, an excellent medical team, and the ability to take a few steps forward today. Focused on Daytona. Bonus - I'm now bionic!"

The RFK Racing star and co-owner has now been discharged from hospital and will be home in time to celebrate the holidays with his family.
Rolling out of the hospital and officially on the road to recovery," Keselowski said. "Grateful for incredible care and a smooth ride home in my Ford Expedition. Ready to be home for the holidays!"

Will Brad Keselowski miss any races?
In the aftermath of the original injury, Keselowski revealed: “My attention now is fully on recovery. I’m motivated to get back to full strength as quickly as possible and will work relentlessly to be ready for Daytona.”
This would suggest that he plans to be in his No. 6 RFK Racing Ford when the points-paying season opener gets underway on February 15.
However, given there was no mention of The Clash, and the fact that the exhibition race takes place on February 1, it seems probable at this stage that Keselowski will miss the event at Bowman Gray Stadium.
This would allow him a further fortnight to focus on his recovery ahead of the Daytona 500, which is the biggest event on the NASCAR calendar and undoubtedly the priority.
