What a Sunday it was for the NASCAR Cup Series, and it finished in the perfect way with Cleetus McFarland interviewing Carson Hocevar. Yes, you read that correctly.
It was a spectacular day for the 23-year-old Hocevar, as the phenom from Portage, Michigan finally delivered on all the promise to claim a first ever win in the sport’s premier series, and at an iconic track.
The Spire Motorsports star just managed to get his No. 77 Chevrolet just 0.114 seconds ahead of Chris Buescher in the No. 17 at the black and white checkered flag amid wild scenes at Talladega Superspeedway.
Hocevar, whose IDGAF attitude on and off track has won the hearts and minds of so many fans (maybe not the drivers though), would immediately celebrate in a fashion befitting his maiden Cup Series success. He crashed into the wall while leaning out of the window on his victory lap!

Cleetus McFarland gatecrashes Hocevar press conference
That wasn’t the end of the postrace fun though, we had a surprise ‘journalist’ asking questions during the press conference - none other than influencer and wannabe NASCAR driver Cleetus McFarland.
Cleetus, who has been making waves himself in recent weeks in ARCA and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series action, joined the assorted ranks of the media, and his ‘interview’ with his buddy Hocevar went something like this:
TMODERATOR: We have someone who called in to ask you a question.
CLEETUS McFARLAND: Brother, it’s Cleet. I’m so proud of you.
CARSON HOCEVAR: Thank you, brother. I appreciate it.
CLEETUS McFARLAND: Dude, you drive that thing to the front every weekend. I knew it was coming. I knew you were going to do it. You drove your tail off. We’re all so proud of you. Great job.
CARSON HOCEVAR: Thank you. I really appreciate it, Cleetus. I hope you were jumping on the wall or wherever the hell you were. I hope you were jumping up like I was yesterday. I mean, you’re going to win one soon.
CLEETUS McFARLAND: I was screaming. I was screaming. Then the burnout, immaculate, brother, immaculate.
CARSON HOCEVAR: I just realized, I literally did the celebration riding on the door at LeMullets. Oh, my God (laughter).
CLEETUS McFARLAND: You’re the man, dude. Great job. Congratulations.
CARSON HOCEVAR: Appreciate it, brother.
