Cup Series driver and team owner Denny Hamlin has vowed to end NASCAR 'lies' when he takes on the racing series in court.
Hamlin co-owns 23XI Racing alongside NBA icon Michael Jordan and others, and is gearing up for his team's lawsuit against the stock car racing series to hit court on Monday.
Last October, 23XI and Front Row Motorsports filed an antitrust lawsuit against the stock car racing series, alleging anti-competitive and monopolistic practices.
After over a year of back and forths on several issues, the case is now finally set to be heard, with the trial predicted to last around 10 days.
Hamlin issues fiery statement ahead of 23XI lawsuit
The ongoing lawsuit has been the biggest talking point off-track all season, and now that the racing for 2025 is in the books, it is the biggest story surrounding NASCAR, period.
As such, several outlets have produced content on the topic, including ESPN, who
published an article titled '23XI vs. NASCAR trial: Why Jordan wants to tear up stock car racing' on Friday.
Hamlin was clearly not happy with what he was reading, however, taking to X to call out the journalist who wrote the piece, Ryan McGee. Hamlin accused him of writing a propaganda piece with the help of NASCAR's managing director for racing communications.
"Please give credit to Mike Forde for helping you write this propaganda piece that they want pushed to switch the narrative," Hamlin wrote, replying to McGee's tweet promoting the article.
"Continuous lies about our stance, NASCARs motives for its actions, and continued message from the sanctioning body that everything is fine. Our fans know better."

NASCAR fans have been 'brainwashed'
McGee, in response, told Hamlin he had 'tried to hit it down the middle' and provide a balanced viewpoint on the matter.
However, Hamlin was clearly in disagreement. Firing one last fiery message for good measure in which he accused NASCAR of brainwashing fans and vowed to end their lies.
"Our fans have been brainwashed with their talking points for decades," Hamlin wrote. "Narratives pushed by media who are intimidated by them.
"Lies are over starting Monday morning. It’s time for the truth. It’s time for change."
