NASCAR has announced a major new broadcast deal that is set to see more than 90 races broadcast live in Mexico this year.

The stock car racing series released an official statement on Wednesday confirming that NASCAR had joined FOX Latin America, starting February 1, with this Sunday's Clash set to be the first race of the deal.

The agreement follows NASCAR's return to Mexico with the Cup and O'Reilly Series last year, with both divisions having raced on a road course at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in June.

"NASCAR joins FOX with a clear vision: to bring together on a single screen the competitions that drive motorsports and connect with a rapidly growing fan base in Mexico, fueled by the presence of Daniel Suárez, the Mexican driver who has spent more than a decade competing in NASCAR, racing at the highest level and establishing himself as one of the series’ leading figures," a NASCAR statement read.

Suarez was also cited by Luis Maldonado, Executive Director Programming and Marketing at FOX Latin America: “NASCAR arrives to complete our motorsports offering and to bring Mexican audiences closer to the great stories of racing, with figures that generate identity and passion, including Daniel Suárez, who will compete in his tenth season in the NASCAR Cup.”

Today's deal is set to cover all three of the Cup, O'Reilly, and Truck Series and includes the Clash exhibition race scheduled for Bowman Gray Stadium this weekend.

"FOX’s coverage includes the NASCAR Cup Series, which begins on February 1 with the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray and features one of its most anticipated moments with the Daytona 500 (500 Miles of Daytona) on February 15 at Daytona International Speedway, before concluding the season on November 8 with the Championship Race," the statement read.

"This offering is complemented by the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, bringing the total to more than 90 NASCAR races throughout the year."

It's important to stress that this deal has no impact on the existing broadcast deal that is in place in the United States.

In the USA, NASCAR Cup Series race action will continue to be shown live across FOX, Prime Video, TNT Sports and NBC, whilst practice and qualifying at most races will remain on Prime Video.

Meanwhile, the O'Reilly Auto Parts and Truck Series also remain on the CW and FOX, respectively.
