Live Fast Motorsports is facing backlash from fans after signing Daniel Dye to drive for them in four NASCAR Cup Series races this season.
Dye started the season as a full-time driver in the Truck Series with Kaulig Racing and Ram, but was indefinitely suspended in March after making comments about meeting IndyCar driver David Malukas on a WhatNot stream, during which he adopted a faux 'camp' voice while impersonating Malukas, drawing immediate attention on social media and being criticized as homophobic.
On March 31, Dye was reinstated and allowed to race once again, but he and Kaulig Racing parted ways, so he has not driven in NASCAR since, only ARCA.
Now, he's set to race in the Cup Series at Talladega this weekend (Apr. 26), as well as Pocono (Jun. 14), Daytona (Aug. 29) and Talladega (Oct. 25) once again, in the No. 78 for Live Fast.

NASCAR fans react to Daniel Dye Cup Series signing
The team made the announcement on social media on Monday, and have immediately been met with a lot of criticism from fans.
"Damn shame to see B.J. [McLeod, co-owner] take a check from this punk ass kid," one user on X wrote. "Another sad reminder as to how money-driven this sport truly is.
"Daniel will never truly face the consequences of his actions because his family money always bails him out. Very, very sad."
Another user on X expressed a similar sentiment: "I used to have some respect for this race team, but decisions like this make that nearly impossible. You can just face the same public consequences for his actions collectively now. Take notes kids, money will bail you out of anything."
"Bills must've gotten to high," another user wrote. While another added: "Bro gets a career upgrade after what he said. Lord have mercy."
Not every reaction was negative, though, it must be said.
One fan wrote: "thank you live fast, for giving a kid another chance and putting it up with the left mob."
Another added: "Kid can wheel it, let's see if he can get his head on straight now."
