NASCAR star Denny Hamlin has admitted he used a bit too much aggression on Bubba Wallace at Kansas Speedway, reflecting on an incident that occurred last September.
During that Cup Series race, Hamlin and Wallace had been battling for the lead on the final lap, with Wallace having led at the white flag. However, neither of them would go on to take the victory, with Hamlin making contact with Wallace's Toyota, sending the No. 23 into the wall, and halting his own momentum.
This allowed Chase Elliott to come past and take the victory, with Hamlin's contact costing Toyota what seemed a guaranteed victory, and potentially 23XI, too.
The Cup Series returns to race at the track for the first time since that moment this Sunday, and ahead of the action, Hamlin has shared how he looks back on that moment.

Denny Hamlin reflects on Bubba Wallace Kansas incident
“It certainly played a factor, kind of in the manufacturer battle as well, right? I mean, you go from winning one to now your competition actually won," Hamlin said at Kansas Speedway on Saturday.
"There were definitely a lot of negatives to the way that race ended, but it certainly was...I just feel like I was trying to go for it, certainly, and used a little bit too much aggression, for sure, in turn three.
"But overall, you're going to have that in racing. When you have teammates, manufacturer guys that you all share information with, we're going to always be right around each other.
"So sometimes those racing incidents happen in one out of 20 times.”
