Two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has shared his verdict on who the real winners were from the NASCAR vs 23XI lawsuit.

Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin's 23XI Racing, along with Front Row Motorsports, sued NASCAR in October 2024, accusing the series of anticompetitive and monopolistic practices.

After a 14-month legal battle, the case finally went to court last month, but on day nine of the trial, the three parties were able to come together and reach a settlement.

"NASCAR, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports are pleased to announce a mutually agreed-upon resolution that delivers long-term stability and creates the conditions for meaningful growth for all teams in a more competitive environment," a joint statement from the three parties read.

"This resolution reflects our shared commitment to maintaining a fair and equitable framework for long-term participation in America’s premier motorsport, one that supports teams, partners and stakeholders while ensuring fans enjoy uninterrupted access to the best racing in the world.

"The agreement allows all parties to move forward with a unified focus on advancing stock car racing and delivering exceptional competition for our fans."

Kyle Busch: Lawyers real winners

Since then, many figures from within the NASCAR community have shared their opinion on the matter, with many glad to see that the case is over.

Like the majority, Busch is happy to see the back of the lawsuit, but believes that in the end, the attorneys were the real winners due to the huge legal fees they would have commanded on both sides.

Asked for his thoughts on the recent settlement at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Tuesday, Busch said, via Peter Stratta: “Yeah, I mean obviously, just getting through all of that is better for the sport, you know?

“I think there are two losing sides and one winning side, as there is in every single lawsuit court case. That being the plaintiff and defendant both lose, and the attorneys win.

“Obviously, it is what it is. So just happy to see it over with. You know, case settled and we'll see how things go forward.”
