Ryan Blaney has given a much-requested insight into how he maintains his new, magnificent moustache.
The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion revealed his new soup strainer over the offseason, with fans hugely impressed with the new facial adornment.
Blaney was asked on the Door Bumper Clear podcast to give out some details on how he keeps his crumb catcher in order, and admitted – on camera and a live mic – that sometimes he just chews overlong hairs down to length.
While he insisted that the inconveniences of having the kind of facial hair that looks like it needs 15lbs of scaffolding to keep it in place are outweighed by the positives, some foods are now problematic.

Blaney: Wings are a disaster
"I have little scissors, I trim it up," he explained. "It curls into my mouth, that's when I know I have to trim it a little bit. You'll sometimes get strays, and you'll just [chomping motion] chew 'em off. If you get too long and you don't have your stuff with you just...just bite off a little bit.
"I put a little...it's like beard butter, just to where they don't get super...it's just like everything, hair and stuff! I will say though, it's a pain to eat sh*t. Wings are a disaster. I live with it though, I like it too much. It's a flavor saver, man."
As is de rigueur for any married man who sprouts a moustache, Blaney was asked whether or not his wife was okay with his new organic mouthguard.
"She's the reason I have it! When I shave my beard off, I go like a week where I'll do funny looks. Like mutton chops, a goatee, soul patch, stuff like that. I got the handlebar, then I got down to this and she was like 'oh, that actually looks fairly decent'. I was like okay!"
