NASCAR history was made by Tyler Reddick at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on Sunday, but 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick has revealed why his and 23XI's success could be bad for the team.
Sunday's race marked round three of the 2026 Cup Series campaign and saw Reddick claim his third victory in a row following his previous successes at the Daytona 500 and in Atlanta.
The 23XI star is now the only driver to ever win the opening three races of a Cup Series season, cementing his name in the history books after holding off the challenge of road course expert Shane van Gisbergen in Texas.
Naturally, Reddick and 23XI's success has been met with widespread adulation from the NASCAR community, but Harvick has warned them that it might not necessarily be a good thing.

Kevin Harvick claims 23XI success could be a bad thing
Speaking on his Happy Hour podcast, the former driver turned FOX analyst gave Reddick and 23XI their flowers, but cited another recent Cup Series three-peat as to why the team must not get carried away.
“Momentum is a real thing in our sport, and when you have that, things just happen easier,” Harvick said on 23XI’s early-season success. “But but you better ride that wave while you have it.
“We saw Christopher Bell win three in a row last year, this is not abnormal. It's abnormal that you win the first three, and when you start the season, sometimes you just have that momentum going, and it can be a great thing.
“It's obviously a great thing for them right now, but it can also be a bad thing because everybody else is working while you're riding the wave of momentum and the details and preparation that you have in your cars already, that everybody else might not."

Christopher Bell warning
“We saw it happen to Bell last year. They [No. 20 team at Joe Gibbs Racing] kind of got stagnant and didn't perform like they needed to in the summer because they didn't do a good job of keeping up with the progression of trying to get better.
“But right now, Denny Hamlin, Michael Jordan 23XI, Tyler Reddick, all those guys are doing good, and there is nothing better from a driver's standpoint, a team standpoint.”
Reddick eyes four-peat
Reddick now heads into Sunday's Cup Series race at Phoenix eyeing a four-peat, and if he can do so, he will be just the ninth driver ever to win four consecutive Cup Series races.
Naturally, given he is the first to win the first three races of the season, he would also be the first to win the first four races of a campaign, too.
Regardless of what happens, the 23XI star heads to Phoenix sitting pretty at the top of the Cup Series standings, and with a very healthy lead to boot, 70 points clear of second-place driver and teammate, Bubba Wallace.
