23XI Racing owner Michael Jordan has revealed he really wanted Tyler Reddick to beat team co-owner Denny Hamlin at Kansas so that he could trash-talk him after the race.
Reddick went on to win the AdventHealth 400 in overtime after an epic late battle with Kyle Larson, but he had restarted with two to go alongside Hamlin, and during the scheduled laps, he had also been battling for the win against his 23XI boss.
During that battle, the lead was exchanged multiple times, with Hamlin looking on for the victory with two laps to go, as Reddick claimed he was out of fuel.
However, a late caution changed everything, sending the race to overtime, where Reddick eventually prevailed, and Hamlin came home in fourth.

Michael Jordan 'really wanted' to beat Denny Hamlin at Kansas
As he has been for all of Tyler Reddick's victories so far this season, Jordan was in attendance at the race track on Sunday, and after seeing his driver win, he revealed why he really wanted to beat his 23XI co-owner.
"Look, I’m racing against Denny," Jordan told FOX live on air post-race. "I really wanted to beat him because I know we’re going to talk a lot of trash a little bit later.
"It was a good race. When we started to run out of fuel, I didn’t know what was happening.
"23XI, all the guys drove well today. All four cars in the top 15. That says a lot about the program.
This kid [Reddick] is on fire. I don’t know if I can cool him down. He is unbelievable. Unbelievable last couple laps. I’m proud of the whole team."
Jordan having fun in NASCAR
Jordan was then asked how much fun it was seeing his team winning races, and being there to witness it.
"When you win, it’s always fun," he said. "Right now, it’s fun for everybody at 23XI.
"Me being here and being able to see all the wins, I am so happy for the team. I just think we need to continually build on this, without a doubt."
